What’s in it for you?

Medical cannabis has been legalized in more than 30 states across the country which means 63% of the 308K pharmacists practice in a legalized state.  This broad legalization of medical cannabis in the United States has caught the medical community by surprise.  Pharmacists, as front line providers, will be interacting with an increasing number of patients using cannabis whether they like it or not.

However, pharmacists did not learn about cannabis in pharmacy school and are thus unprepared and untrained to incorporate medical cannabis into patient’s treatment regimens.  According to an Aclara Research survey, 69% pharmacists want to be involved in the dispensing and counseling of cannabis to patients.
